Days of inter-culture in Nis   

In the period 17-23 September 2002, PROTECTA organised the Days of Inter-culture in cooperation with Civic Initiatives from Belgrade. The event included theatrical performances, concerts, street performances, literary events, public meetings, debates, projection of movies and organisation of parties, which helped presentation of culture and arts of Balkan people. The event was preceded by a visit by students from Serbia to students and youth organisations in Barcelona. The return visit was organised in the second half of September 2002, so that 20 students and members of youth organisations from Barcelona took part in the Days of Inter-culture.

Theatre 21st century

Theatre 21st century is an alternative theatre, which earlier was the academic theatre. Afterwards, it became an alt-theatre of PROTECTA and as such, it recorded a lot of successes in festivals of alternative theatres in Serbia. Insisting on a physical theatre as the expression offering huge possibilities for communication and permanent interaction with the audience, theatrical performances of Theatre 21st century have always focused on universal topics: human being-person, person’s destiny, person’s position towards the world and nature, God and oneself. Having played six theatrical performances in the last three years, the Theatre made up for a very poor cultural life in Southern Serbia.
